The SNCC is proud to finally launch its new website – hoping that we through this will have a good working tool for the Chamber going forward !
Not many months have passed since we inaugurated the Chamber and got the official “blessing” during the Singaporean presidential visit to Norway in the fall of 2016 by President Tony Tan. Since then we have been busy establishing ourselves and have been active in making the Chamber known in many circles both in Norway as well as in Singapore. We have today approximately 50 members primarily from Norway, and our aim is to raise the membership substantially within this year, also from Singapore. We have in this period also signed an MOU with the SBF (Singapore Bus. Federation) and Innovation Norway. Furthermore we have established strong ties with several institutions in Singapore such as the EDB, the MPA, the SMF, IE Singapore, as well as Spring Singapore. SNCC believes that cooperating with such institutions will make the Chamber more known and will ultimately lead to closer business relations between Norway and Singapore.
We have in this period arranged several events for our members as well as friends of Singapore – the first one in December last year was on the Challenges of Digitalization and how this affects business life in general as well specifically Telenor which has placed its HQ for Digital Services to Singapore. In March we had EDB from Singapore giving us their perspectives on “Singapore – the Launchpad for doing Business in Asia” together with a representative from DNV GL who presented a case study of a successful cooperation project with EDB. Last month we also took part in receiving a small group of Singaporean companies looking for business opportunities in Norway, a business delegation arranged by IE Singapore as well as Innovation Norway.
At the moment we are busy preparing for the co-arrangement with the Nor-Shipping organisation for the first ever “Asian Podium” during this year’s Nor-Shipping Conference on the 31st May. We hope that as many as possible of our members will take the time to take part in this exciting event where we have brought together many good speakers and panelists from not least Singapore and Asia. See other place on the web site for more info on this as well as the large Singapore Nite party in the evening that our members have also been invited to take part in !
Finally I would like to send my thanks to all our supporters and specifically to the SNCC secretariat headed by Ms Ruby Hassan who has done a great job in bringing SNCC to where it is today. We still have limited resources but ambitious plans, so this will not happen going forward either without a lot of extra effort by all involved !
Going forward I hope this web site will be a fruitful communication tool between the SNCC and all its members as well as other interested parties.
We look forward to be in contact with you !
Chairman of SNCC
