On 21st August, the SNCC co-organized a successful business reception with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, at Wikborg Rein’s new Executive Lounge in downtown Oslo.

The event coincided with the Norwegian Ambassadors to ASEAN countries annual meetings in Oslo, with the intention to gather them to meet with the ASEAN Ambassadors to Norway and senior representatives from Norwegian corporate sectors.

The event was well attended with approximately 80 guests, including ASEAN Ambassadors from Myanmar, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia.

Norway’s State Secretary, Ms Tone Skogen, attended as Guest of Honor (in place of Mr Børge Brende, Minister of Foreign Affairs) and gave a welcome address where she highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between Norway and ASEAN countries to boost beneficial commercial relations. SNCC’s Chairman, Mr Erik Borgen, also gave an opening address, welcoming the guests and Ambassadors.

The guests were treated to a performance by a locally based Thai band and refreshments, whilst mingling was underway.
