StartupLab, DNV GL, and Singapore Norway Chamber of Commerce (SNCC) have the pleasure of inviting you to an afternoon seminar for startups and venture investors 22 May at 3pm, at StartupLab in Oslo science park.
The renowned Singapore-based entrepreneur and investor William Klippgen in Cocoon Capital, will share his experience both as an international entrepreneur and as a venture investor on how to succeed as a startup in one of Asia’s most important hubs for international business, finance and innovation. Other speakers include Tor Bækkelund, Managing Partner in StartupLab’s Founders Fund, business developer and investor with 20 years of international experience from various industries, and Pål Kastmann, Director of Innovation Norway Singapore and representative for Nordic Innovation House Singapore.

Will Klippgen is Managing Partner of Cocoon Capital in Singapore. He is the co-founder of price comparison site Zoomit.com, which was later merged with Kelkoo.com and sold to Yahoo in 2004 in one of Europe’s largest internet transactions. He has invested in over 40 startups since he became an angel investor as part of his family investment company, Tigris Capital. Tigris is behind companies like Anacle Systems, Tickled Media, ReferralCandy and Nugit. In 2010, it was awarded “Best Performing VC / PE backed company” by the Singapore Venture Capital Association for its successful investment in PropertyGuru.com, Southeast Asia’s leading property listing site. He holds an MSc degree in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, an MSc in Computer Engineering from Boston University (which he attended on a Fulbright Scholarship), and an MBA from INSEAD Business School where he is a frequent speaker and judge.
Pål Kastmann is Director of Innovation Norway Singapore and a partner at the Nordic Innovation House Singapore. He has previously spent eight years in China, during which time he was Sector Manager for Energy and Environment at Innovation Norway China and Manager the Norwegian Energy and Environment Consortium (NEEC). He also worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was part of the team setting up the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou in 2008. He has a master’s degree in Chinese and Economics from the University of Oslo and the London School of Economics.
