Strong engagement last week at the SNCC event “Navigating Geopolitical Uncertainty”, hosted at the impressive setting of Euronext Oslo Børs in connection with SNCC’s Annual General Meeting 2026 🏛️
This is where SNCC is at its best: bringing together people across industries for relevant conversations about Singapore, Asia, and the changing conditions for international business.
A great thank you to our distinguished speakers for sharing their insights:
🔸 Øivind Amundsen, CEO of Euronext Oslo Børs and SNCC Board Member welcomed participants to the historic stock exchange and shared perspectives on Oslo Børs’ strong position for shipping and other internationally oriented industries.
🔸 Kelly Chen 陈可舒, Senior Economist, Macro Research – China at DNB Carnegie shared insights on China and the broader macroeconomic landscape, including the recent developments across a number of industries and technologies.
🔸 Håkon Lenz, President & CEO of Wilhelmsen Ship Management and Charlotte Demeer Strøm, Director – Head of International Politics at Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (Norges Rederiforbund) and SNCC Board Member, connected geopolitical developments directly to operational realities in shipping and international business – including trade patterns, regional security challenges, and the impact on crews operating in areas affected by developments around the Strait of Hormuz.
🔸Mathias Borge Bye, Listing Director Energy & Shipping at Euronext Oslo Børs closed the session with perspectives from the capital markets side, adding an important financial perspective to the broader discussion.
One clear takeaway from the morning was how closely geopolitics, economics, shipping, capital markets and operational business decisions are now tied together. What happens globally increasingly affects decisions being made inside companies every day.
